Used Bikes

We Have Over 200 Used Bicycles for Sale.

The used bikes include road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids, three speeds, cruisers and kid’s bikes. Some of these bikes are tuned-up and ready to sell others can be fixed up (and potentially customized) if you see one you are interested in. You are never obligated to buy a bike that has been put together with you in mind. If after riding it you don’t like it for any reason I will hang it up with a price tag on it and somebody else will buy it later. Rebuilt bikes frequently have new cables, brake shoes, and tires. We also take trade-ins as well as buy used bicycles! All are used bikes come with a satisfaction or your money back for as long as you own the bike.

Every Bike Receives a Tune Up

  • All of our used bikes have received a full tune up and some new parts.
  • Common new parts you will find on most of our used bikes include: brake pads, cables/housings, grips/handlebar tape, tires and chain.

Name Brand Bikes

  • All used bikes described are name brand (not box store) unless otherwise noted.
  • Name brand bikes tend to be lighter, have better parts and so require less maintenance.

Standard Bike Categories

Hybrid Bikes

  • Our used hybrids are our most popular seller so inventory can be limited.
  • I consider hybrids to be the default bike for most riders.
  • Comfortable body position, will handle all road surfaces as well as hills and less effort than mountain bikes.
  • These bikes tend to be 21 or 24 speeds, and have no suspension.

Mountain Bikes

  • Our used mountain bikes are mostly older 21 speed non suspension bicycles with 26” wheels.
  • They make good all around bikes for errands, dirt roads, rail trail and even some casual mountain biking.
  • Strong and reliable.

Road Bikes

  • Our used road bikes are mostly ten and twelve speed bikes from the 1990’s forward.
  • These bikes are better suited for longer distances than hybrid and mountain bikes due to their more aerodynamic body position.
  • The like roads best but can do smooth dirt roads as well.

We usually do have a few more modern bikes.

  • These bikes are lighter have a broader gear range and have the shifters incorporated into the brake levers.
  • They tend to be pavement only.

Cruisers

  • Most of our used cruisers are one speeds through occasionally we have five and seven speed versions.
  • Most of our cruisers are box store bikes.
  • Good for flat terrain and short distances.

Three Speed/Vintage Bikes

  • We do have a supply of older classic three speeds on hand.
  • These bikes tend to have fenders, and sometimes a rack.
  • Swept back handlebars create a very upright body position for ease of visibility and general comfort.
  • Great bikes for riding around town.
  • Not good for larger hills.

Kids Bikes

  • We have a good selection of kid’s bikes for riders ages 1 1⁄2 to teenagers.
  • It seems that kids tend to grow so even though you just bought them a bike two years ago somehow it’s too small now.
  • Bring in your old one to trade towards new.
  • Most of the bikes are box store bikes though we sometimes have name brand as well.

Department Store Bikes

Yes, we sell used box store bikes and guarantee them. How? By replacing some of the poorly made components with better ones.

  • These bikes tend to be heavier but can be okay for casual around town riding.
  • Not the best choice for any kind of mountain biking.

Our Own Creations!

The Easy Threesey

One of our favorites!

  1. We start with an older box store mountain bike.
  2. Next, we remove the shifters and install a left side/front derailleur thumb friction shifter.
  3. Lastly, we lock the rear derailleur in place, usually in the second easiest gear (the setting can be easily changed as needed).

The result is a durable three speed bike with a fairly wide gear range. We’ve built these as fleet bikes for college campuses and for farm workers.

  • Rugged, simple, able to haul heavy loads and inexpensive to buy and maintain.
  • The people’s bike!

The Big Kid

The big kid is basically an older name brand mountain bike with:

  • BMX handlebars; a
  • Wider saddle; and
  • Wide cruiser/balloon tires.

We started building these bikes and sold a number to folks who enjoy RV camping and riding around the campground.

  • They kind of look like an adult BMX bike.
  • Very upright body position.
  • Gears for hills if needed.
  • Wide tires for confidence and a cool look.

The Flat Bar Road Bike

  • It is what it’s title says. We replace the standard “drop” handlebars on an older road bike with flat or slightly raised mountain bike handle bars.
  • We will also sometimes change out the crankset (forward gears) from two to three to give it a better gear range for hills.
  • The result is a very practical everyday bike that can do longer or shorter rides paved and dirt roads.
  • It can be a less expensive hybrid option.
